ESG & Impact Investing Strategy
Hewson Baltzell has spent the majority of his career focused on sustainability, climate change, Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) research and impact investing. More than 20 years ago, he co-founded what is now MSCI ESG Research and helped build the ESG industry to what it is today. As a board member of the Global Impact Investing Network, he also influenced and helped build the related impact investing field.
Hewson’s consulting practice focuses on capital markets players – including institutional investors, ratings agencies, wealth managers, family offices, foundations/endowments, companies/boards of directors and nonprofits – on research, fund structuring, creation of indexes and ETFs, sourcing and due diligence on investments, and new product development. His broad experience as an investor, entrepreneur, board member, and product developer, along with his capital markets background, gives him a unique vantage point of seeing where the industry has come from since its inception and anticipating its possible next steps.
